Sano Genetics is looking for a curious, organised leader who thrives in structured coaching environments and brings an analytical lens to team development. As our Sales Performance Team Lead, reporting to the Ben Jackson (VP Commercial) you’ll take on direct responsibility for team performance - bringing clarity, structure, and coaching to every part of how we sell.
You will bring a coach-first mindset, focused on building a high-performing, empowered team. Your key responsibility is enabling success across a group of AEs and Sales Directors: designing the systems, training, and support that drive results in complex, consultative sales cycles across biotech and pharma.
While this role may include some direct sales activity, your primary focus will be empowering others to succeed. If you’re excited by people leadership, process design, and coaching that drives real commercial impact - this is your chance to shape how we sell, grow, and win.
Headlines:
- Role - Sales Performance Team Lead
- Salary - £75-90k pa (plus performance based bonus)
- Location - Remote, UK only
What you'll be doing:
- Managing and developing a team of Account Executives and Sales Directors through structured 1:1s, coaching rhythms, and clear progression plans
- Driving day-to-day team performance - monitoring KPIs, diagnosing blockers, and creating a high-accountability, high-support environment
- Establishing structure in a high-growth sales org; defining standards, streamlining workflows, and scaling systems that grow with the team
- Owning the full enablement journey - from onboarding to continuous development - with playbooks, coaching frameworks, and tailored training
- Building scalable performance systems that help reps level up their skills, improve pipeline quality, and shorten sales cycles
- Aligning sales and strategy by partnering with RevOps and Product Marketing to optimise tools, messaging, and end-to-end process execution
- Shaping team design and capacity planning alongside the VP Commercial to ensure we scale efficiently and sustainably
- Informing go-to-market strategy with insights on team capability, deal flow, and sales effectiveness that influence company-wide decisions
This job is for you if you have:
- Proven experience managing and coaching B2B sales reps in complex, consultative environments
- A strong foundation in sales enablement - capable of turning strategy into structured programs that raise performance
- Experience in SaaS or technology-enabled services, ideally across both enterprise and non-enterprise sales motions
- A management style that balances accountability with empathy, and structure with flexibility
- Confidence using CRM (e.g. HubSpot), sales enablement platforms, and forecast/pipeline tools
- The ability to operate with autonomy, make decisions independently, and lead without micromanagement
- Proven ability to coach teams selling to VP/C-suite stakeholders in regulated or high-science verticals
Even better if you have:
- Experience selling into biotech, pharma, or clinical trials
- Familiarity with structured sales methodologies like MEDDIC, Challenger, or SPICED
- A personal interest in life sciences, personalised medicine, or health tech
- Experience leading multi-geo teams in the UK & US
This role is unlikely to be a great match if:
- You’ve never managed a team of quota-carrying sales reps
- This is your first SaaS or startup adventure, and you haven’t worked with complex deal cycles in highly regulated environments
- You don’t have experience building or owning enablement programs
- You prefer to close deals yourself rather than lead and scale team performance
- You’re uncomfortable making decisions independently or setting direction for others
Research shows that some people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are 100% qualified. Your experience, skills and passion will set you apart so tell us about your achievements, irrespective of whether they are personal or work-related, tell us about your journey, and about what you learnt.
So, if this role excites you, don't let our role description hold you back, get applying!
